Welding

Highly skilled team that has the capability to translate your design into a precision finished item. Simply Stainless Steel is compliant with Section lX of ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code which relates to the qualification of welders, welding operators and the procedures that they employ in Welding; coded in mild steel, stainless steel, and mild steel to stainless steel. Simply Stainless Steel applies a broad range of high-tech and conventional fabrication skills to the cost-effective manufacture of many products. Complex structures are assembled and produced in our fabrication department and we as Simply Stainless Steel can supply complete bolted or welded assemblies. MIG, TIG and Laser on stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel which allows us to offer competitive prices and fast turnaround for both custom items and series production.

Laser Welding

Laser Welding is indisputably the most versatile of all metal fabrication processes because of reduced tolling costs and fast set-up. From prototype of production we can meet, and in most cases exceed, all metal fabrication requirements, including engineering and research and development.

With the demand for laser profiling swamping the industry, Simply Stainless Steel (Port Elizabeth) has invested in the “Handheld Laser Welding Machine”. The secret behind the speed of the “Handheld Laser Welding Machine” lies in its design; with a Power Range of 2000W and a laser-wavelength between 1064-1080.

Simply Stainless Steel handles all types of material such as stainless steel, mild steel, and aluminium.

Mig Welding

MIG Welding is a commonly used high deposition rate welding process. Wire is continuously fed from a spool. MIG welding is therefore referred to as a semiautomatic welding process.

The benefits are:

  • All position capability
  • High deposition rates than Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW)
  • Less operator skill required
  • Long welds can be made without starts and stops.
  • Minimal post weld cleaning is required

Tig Welding

TIG Welding is an intensely fine and delicate welding technique. The idea is that you slowly feed the filler rod into the weld as you go. You can weld when TIG or Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) with using the filler rod and understandably just melt the two bits of metal together. This is known as ‘fusing’, where using the heat from arc you melt and merge it together.

The benefits of TIG welding:

  • Superior quality welds
  • Welds can be made with or without filler metal
  • Precise control of welding variables (heat)
  • Free of spatter
  • Low distortion

Arc Welding

ARC Welding is the rarefied reveal for arc welding is Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) or Manuel Metal Arc Welding (MMAW). This period you use an electrode which is just a length of filler wire that is going on the subject for an average approximately 30cm long and is covered in a flux. As you use the rod the flux will burn off and create a shielding gas that protects the weld. Arc Welding is frequently referred to as stick or covered electrode welding. Arc Welding is among the most widely used welding processes.

Benefits:

  • Equipment used is simple, inexpensive, and portable
  • Electrode provides and regulates its own flux
  • Lower sensitivity to wind and drafts than gas shielded welding      process
  • All position capability

CNC Machining

CNC Punching

CNC Punching is the most affordable method of creating multiple holes in sheet metal, especially in medium to high production volumes.

Punching Benefits:

  • It is a fast method, which saves precious manufacturing time.
  • Cost effective solution when punching square holes in sheet metal.
  • Metal Punching creates multiple various type of holes.
  • Punches and dies are commonly made from hardened steel.

The punch itself can vary in size and shape. Usually, the punch and die have similar dimensions however purposed to create a so-called extruded hole to ensure quality and precise punching.

CNC Brake Press Bending

Our CNC press-brakes can bend all your laser cut and punched blanks as per your specifications to provide you with a finished product or component.

Capabilities are 0.5 to 6mm in sheet and plate metals materials. Bending length capabilities are 3000mm. Bending on thicker material is possible on smaller items.

CNC Guillotine

Steel guillotining offers a high degree of shearing accuracy and can be used to cut sheets of varying size and thickness – usually from about 0.5mm to 12mm thick, and up to three metres wide, depending on customers’ requirements.

There are many different types of steel guillotine, and the one you choose will depend mainly on the type of material you need cut, as well as how long and thick it is.

We therefore offer:

  • High shearing accuracy and repeatability for all cutting requirements.
  • Latest technology – a cutting beam driven by hydraulic cylinders provides consistent accuracy.
  • Maximum resistance to deflection and torsion force, ensuring optimum quality

Insulation and Lagging

Simply Stainless Steel helps you prevent metal fatigue and stress on your piping infrastructure ensuring your assets remain intact and in the required format through any heating and cooling process.

Sheeting and Cladding

Simply Stainless Steel are leaders in the supply, delivery and installation of cladding and insulation. Flashings, ventilation, and rainwater goods to new construction and/or refurbishment projects.

Repair plans can include:
Patching holes in weather barriers, replacing missing, damaged or net insulation, redesign of walkways. (including platforms and rigid installations, substrate coating to mitigate corrosion under insulation).
